A Joomla 'Site Pack'
Joomla is a great content management system, allowing you to build and maintain a website with very little web design skills. Straight 'out of the box' joomla does a good job at presenting web pages, but there are enhancements that will greatly improve the look and feel of your site.
This list suggests the best Joomla add-ons to make you site look better, be easier to maintain and more flexible.
Joomla! site setup, what you need and how to set up Joomla
The latest version of Joomla
Most web hosting services are now providing an easy way to install Joomla, such as the Fantastico installer. This installs a variety of popular software packages directly into your webspace. If it's available from your hosting service then you can have Joomla installed and running with just a few mouse clicks. If not then you'll have to revert to the manual installation, but even so you'll have Joomla running very quickly and easily.
An editor
The standard Joomla installation comes with an editor so that you can type articles to put on your pages and then make changes. It's a good editor, but there are better ones around that will allow you to do more, and do it quicker.
A sitemap generator
If you want your website to be easily indexed by Google, and who doesn't? Then a sitemap will help. It also helps people too, by providing an easy reference to all the pages on your site. Xmap is very good. It produces both a visual sitemap that people can read, and a sitemap for Google. So you get the best of both.
The Jumi Module
Jumi is a special module that lets you include executable php and javascript into your pages. If you don't need php or javascript forget about Jumi.
Google adsense
If you have a google adsense account and want to show adverts on your pages we will be adding a tutorial to show exactly how it's done. This will include screenshots that show everything you need to know
